The Seed Business Line has several strategic activities: the selection and the development of new maize varieties (temperate and tropical), of sunflowers and various species (alfalfa, rapeseed, soybeans, sorghum, cover crops, forage mixtures, etc.), the seed production and their marketing. The year 2023 was marked again by two crisis of avian influenza, in January and May that affected the productions of the Maïsadour Cooperative and therefore the Poultry and Gourmet Business Lines. But thanks to the extraordinary mobilization of the teams and of the members, the returns to breeding successfully planed in time so the holidays season could satisfy our customers and consumers! Those last few weeks, the farmers mobilized everywhere in France to warn about the difficulties of the profession and to advocate a fairer agricultural model, able to restore positive prospects for the sector. To provide factual insights about all these issues, Maïsadour is deploying this week the campaign “#Fierdetrepaysan & #Fiersdenospaysans” on the social networks in order to create a collective and unifying movement around the reality of the agricultural professions.
