On the 1st of May, the 26th edition of the Asparagus Festival took place in Pontonx-sur-l'Adour. Maïsadour was present at this key event in our local life.

On the 1st of May, the 26th edition of the Asparagus Festival took place in Pontonx-sur-l’Adour. This not-to-be-missed event in local life brought together more than 500 people, who came to celebrate this vegetable with its many nutritional virtues which is the pride of our region.

Making of a giant omelette with pieces of asparagus

Among the many highlights of the day were a show on stilts, a traditional dance and an animation on the harvest of  asparagus.

There was no shortage of culinary delights either, with the making of a giant omelette with asparagus pieces and the organisation of a convivial meal in the arena with dishes based on asparagus. All this with products supplied by Maïsadour!

Finally, visitors also had the opportunity to discover and buy many local products: strawberries, pastis, sausage, cheese, Basque cake…

A programme that brought together young and old alike.

Maïsadour was obviously present at this event. Our elected representatives made the trip and our entire team promoted our producers’ asparagus. Over 1,400 kilos were sold on the day, a real success!

These exchanges also provided an opportunity to share delicious recipes and good advice on conservation.

This 1st of May in Pontonx-sur-l’Adour, there was no doubt : the asparagus was really the best ambassador of our territory !
