In Haut-Mauco, SOAL is modernizing its production facilities to support the growth of the poultry industry

To support the development of the poultry sector in the South-West, Sud-Ouest Aliment (SOAL) is investing €4.3 million in the modernisation of its feed manufacturing plant in Haut-Mauco. Supported to the tune of more than one million euros by the EAFRD and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the project includes the creation of a line dedicated to feed for everyday chicken.

Adapting the industrial tool to the needs of the sector

In a poultry market marked by increasing consumption and a strong dependence on imports, Maïsadour is continuing to roll out its development plan launched in June 2025 to revive production in the South-West. This plan provides for 6 million additional poultry to be produced each year by 2030.

To support this dynamic, Sud-Ouest Aliment (SOAL), a subsidiary of Maïsadour specialising in animal nutrition, is adapting its Haut-Mauco plant. The objective is to support the development of daily poultry and Label Rouge production in the South-West, while providing the site with the necessary equipment to manufacture feed that meets the specific needs of everyday chicken.

An investment in performance

Today, the site is not equipped to manufacture feed for everyday poultry, which requires its own formulation and presentation and therefore requires suitable equipment and technology.

The project thus provides for the integration of new technologies for grinding, microdosing, mixing and granulation, allowing SOAL to develop its production tool.

This modernization must therefore make it possible to support the growth of the sector, but it must also contribute to strengthening the quality of feed and its regularity, to the benefit of livestock performance, as well as to improving the energy performance of the site.

The working conditions of the teams will also benefit from the changes made to the installation, in particular thanks to the automation of certain manipulations and the automatic change of parts.

A project supported by the EAFRD and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region

The project represents a total investment of €4.3 million. It benefits from public support of one million euros, including more than €600,000 from the EAFRD and €400,000 from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. The work began in October 2025 and is scheduled for completion by October 2028 at the latest.

This investment allows SOAL to develop its industrial facilities to meet the new needs of the sector and to support, from the Haut-Mauco site, the development of poultry production in the South-West.
